QUIET CORNERS
Quiet Corners is a photographic exploration of Singapore’s subtle, often overlooked expressions of identity. While the city may initially seem quiet, reserved, or introverted to an outsider, I’ve come to see that Singaporeans communicate vibrantly through the colours and forms embedded in their built environment. The project focuses on minimalist and abstract colour compositions found in everyday spaces—facades, edges, shadows, and corners that typically sit unnoticed.
By isolating these fragments, I construct an alternative version of the city—one that feels familiar yet unplaceable, almost detached from the Singapore most people recognise. Each image is intentionally pared back, relying on strong composition, clean geometry, and colour to evoke curiosity, ambiguity, and a sense of quiet contemplation.
Quiet Corners invites viewers to pause, to question what lies beyond the frame, and to reconsider how personality and expression surface in the most understated parts of urban life.
